Arrival in Bordeaux
Your journey begins before you reach the hotel. A private chauffeur meets you at the airport and delivers you to the InterContinental Bordeaux – Le Grand Hôtel, a five-star landmark directly opposite the Grand Théâtre.
The afternoon is yours. Explore Bordeaux’s limestone boulevards, the riverfront, the wine bars that function more as institutions than watering holes. Let the city set the tone.
As evening arrives, an apéritif and welcome dinner in the city mark the beginning of the journey properly.
Cabot Bordeaux & the Médoc
The morning belongs to the Châteaux Course at Cabot Bordeaux – ranked among the finest layouts on the Continent, routed through the Médoc’s vineyard landscape.
Lunch at the clubhouse follows, before a private afternoon transfer deeper into the Médoc for a château visit and tasting hosted by people who know this land intimately.
Return to Bordeaux for dinner at your own pace.
Bordeaux to Saint-Émilion
A relaxed breakfast before a private transfer east to Saint-Émilion – a medieval hilltop village classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most concentrated collections of Premier Grand Cru estates on earth.
Enjoy Lunch in the village before embarking on a private walking discovery of Saint-Émilion’s hidden corners.
Check-in at Château Hôtel Grand Barrail – a château hotel surrounded by parkland and vines, and one of the most beautifully positioned properties in the Right Bank. The evening is yours.
Golf in the vineyards
A private transfer to Grand Saint-Émilionnais Golf Club, where Tom Doak’s design makes full use of the rolling Right Bank terrain. It is a more intimate round than the Médoc, and one of the most visually striking courses in France.
Late lunch back in Saint-Émilion, followed by a private tasting at a selected Right Bank estate. These are among the most sought-after appointments in Bordeaux’s wine calendar, arranged exclusively for guests of this journey.
A quiet evening at leisure in the village or at the hotel.
Into Cognac
After breakfast, a scenic private transfer north through the Charente countryside – a landscape of limestone river towns, ancient brandy houses and a slower, more contemplative pace than anywhere you have been this week.
Arrival in Cognac and check-in at Chais Monnet – the benchmark luxury address in the region, built within a complex of historic cognac cellars and combining heritage with genuine contemporary design.
The afternoon is spent on a private visit and hosted tasting at one of the great Cognac houses – Hennessy or Rémy Martin – where the depth of craft, history and liquid on show is unlike anything in the wine world.
Cognac at your own pace
The final full day is deliberately unscheduled.
A spa morning at Chais Monnet. A further cellar visit. A gentle cycle along the Charente. A long drive through the surrounding countryside. A round of golf, Or simply nothing more demanding than a late breakfast and a good book.
Lunch at a country restaurant or in Cognac itself, before the final evening – a celebratory dinner with considered wine pairings and a Cognac digestif that arrives not as an afterthought, but as the conclusion the journey deserves.
Departure
A relaxed breakfast and no rush.
A private transfer to Bordeaux Airport, Bordeaux rail station, or onward arrangements — whatever the next chapter requires.
